All unbiased Mommy's opinions aside, your kids are gorgeous. People have stopped you in stores and on the street and have asked, "Do your children model?" more times than you can count - so you have decided to enter the world of children's modeling but aren't quite sure which way to go.

First, let's talk about the types of avenues that child modeling will lead to : Fashion Modeling, Commercial Modeling, Acting such as theater and screen and Pageants. Each of these avenues will have their own nuances and your child may enjoy pursuing a number of them or just one. No matter which avenue you choose to begin with, your child will need agency representation to acquire the best professional jobs.

As far as agencies go, there are two main types. The fee-based "Modeling School" agency where you pay and the school teaches your child the basics of modeling, provides headshots and many of these are nationwide companies or franchises and may or may not be able to secure job opps for your child. The other type of agency, a Modeling/Talent Agent or Agency is extremely selective about the children they will represent but they will provide steady professional work for your child if he or she is accepted. Generally they don't charge an ongoing fee for representation however they do take a percentage per paying job that your child receives through their agency. You will run a much better chance of gaining representation with an agency if you have already done a little local modeling and there are more local opportunities than you can shake a stick at if you really look. Stores often look for child models for their print advertising, around holiday time local malls will often hold winter fashion shows and there are also local contests, hair shows and beauty events that require models both youth and adult. Enter in the spirit of having a good time and you can't lose even if your child doesn't win first place.

Talk to your child and see if he or she is really interested in modeling and go from there. You will need to get some formal attire to wear for professional photos. No matter where your child's talent and look takes him or her in the future, the confidence and knowledge gained from positive modeling is something your child will carry all their lives.

A common complaint many twins have when they get older is that their parents always dressed them exactly alike. Even though your daughters may be mirror images of each other, they have very unique personalities and it's not uncommon for identical twins to have such differences in personality that one is actually an extrovert and the other a shy introvert.

If you're daughters are old enough to voice an opinion, ask them if they would like to have a dresses that look the same or would they prefer to have a separate color. Letting older children make choices is good on many levels. It shows you value their individual opinions, it gives a younger child a sense of feeling in control over her some aspects of her life and it also builds self confidence when you show you take what your child is saying seriously.

When you have a particular dress style in mind and you want your daughters to match in terms of the cut of a dress, let them choose their color and get matching accessories for each girl. A gorgeous satin organza dress that comes in a number of color choices will let your daughters express their own personal flair as well as look uniform and "together".

Go ahead, let your twins shine together and celebrate their individuality by letting them choose their own colors for your next formal occasion.

Does your daughter enjoy competing in pageants or does she want to being competing in pageants? It's competition at its best. Your daughter will need to compete in every level. From looks to talent to knowledge - every facet of her personality will be put to the test. For many judges, the pageantry clothing chosen is an outward extension of your child's personality. If you have a bubbling princess full of fun, let it shine forth in the choice of a pageant dress.

If you're just starting out in pageants, go for local competitions first and let your daughter get her pretty feet wet and understand what it's all about. Then you can go forth if she enjoys the experience and let her experiment with hairstyles such as different up-do's, hair accessories and learn to walk and look the pageant host right in the eye and smile when answering questions.

This will give your daughter a wealth of confidence and also some valuable experience meeting a wide variety of people as well as learning about people, places and things she may not have had the opportunity to have been exposed to.

For most local pageants, you will need one to two formal dresses; larger regional and statewide pageants may include more dress changes and many girls have several pageants dresses by the time they reach this level in their competing.

If your daughter is excited about the prospect of competing in a pageant, pick out a dress that really shows her personality and give her the opportunity to compete in the fun of pageants and enjoy the wealth of experience and knowledge that comes with it!

With Spring just around the corner, all we can hear is
wedding bells in the air!

Junior bridesmaid and flower girl dresses are most likely the last to
be taken care of in a wedding. Most parents prefer to have it done this way, since children grow quite a few inches by the time the event is here.

Here are a few ways of how the Bride should go about planning in having
her Junior Bridesmaid dresses or Flower Girl dresses in time for her wedding!

Too many times parents would keep putting this task off until it's too late
where they are not even able to order the dress and get it on time for their wear date. Now, this is where we would suggest ordering your flower girl or junior bridesmaid dress approximately 3-4 months prior to the wedding. Most flower girl or junior bridesmaid dresses are available for delivery within 10-12 weeks, so if you order 3-4 months ahead of your wear date you are allowing for any additional problems and a guarantee that you will still be able to get your dress and have sufficient time for any necessary alternations that might be needed. In some cases retailers would offer a Rush Ship which will get you that dress in 4-6 weeks or so but, with an additional charge.

Now, when it comes to selecting a style for your junior bridesmaid or flower girl it all comes down to your preferences.

Let's take for example, Flower Girls who are most of the time young girls between the ages of 8 or younger. There are flower girl dresses that are of impeccable quality with a classic charm that makes them keepsakes and not just clothes. Bottom line is, flower girls will always look adorable and princess like in these dresses! However, aside from this, there are so many other different choices.... when it comes to your flower girl or junior bridesmaid.

Flower girl dresses can be coordinated to reflect the look or the color of the bride or bridesmaids in many ways.

A lot of dresses today for the flower girls are offered in a V or a square neckline which is very popular with today's fashion and can be coordinated well with the bridesmaid or maid of honor. Other styles may include the popular pick up skirt which is absolutely gorgeous and a positive hit with the brides of today!

Coordinating your colors are very important too and can best be done at the time of ordering. There are numerous dresses where you can add a contrasting sash color against an ivory or white dress or champagne with brown or ivory with thyme and so on and so forth. The length of dress is based upon your choice and most of the time available in tea or gown length.

The junior bridesmaid prefers more of the A-line silhouettte gowns that makes them feel somewhat older. There are also some enchanting ball gown styles that are absloutely gorgeous! Being a child attendant in the wedding, one must take care to choose a style that might look a bit mature but, on the other hand remain within their age bracket.

Often times when an occasion or event arises, the first thought that comes to our minds as parents, is how should I go about doing this? Or where should I even start looking for this perfect dress for my little girl!

Shopping in a department store for little girls special occasion dresses, or any type of formal wear or accessories, can often be a painstaking ordeal! These days, what you find more when shopping special occasion dresses for your children, is more smaller versions of the adult clothing, and this is certainly not good!

However, the good news is, there are still a handful of clothing manufacturers that knows what a little girl wants and how to dress her like the princess she really is! Bottomline is, it all comes down to a few things. Being patient, finding the time and of course the money!

A good way to start is to familiarize yourself with a few clothing manufacturers, like Bonny's Forever Yours Little Maiden Macis Couture and Atianas just to name a few.

Now, this should be your first step before you even think of buying that special dress for your little one.

Also, do remember that this is not an easy task and one that might cause you to be slightly overwhelmed at the beginning. Now, c'mon we all know that dressing your little sweetheart is not only about the dress! Hello! it's also about the stockings, the color and style of shoes, the hair accessories, shawls....you name it! For little girls, the choices never seem to end!

A good way to start from here is to browse on line. There are lots of children's stores that you can look at. If you see what you are looking for, find out if they have a physical store where you are able to actually touch the fabric, check the quality, the fit, the color and so on. I mean a lot of times looking at photos on line may sometimes be difficult trying to figure out what this dress looks or feel like. Take for example, dresses from Tiffany's, Macis Couture and Bonny's to name a few, are simply gorgeous in style and of exceptional quality! There are some online stores where you are able to get a really close up detail look of the dress and that's good, but nothing's better than when you actually get the touch and feel of the fabric. On the other hand, if you are aware of the quality the store or the manufacturer offers then by all means go ahead with your purchase on line. These days they have from color charts to size charts and so buying online rarely would bring about a problem.

Last, but not least, we come to the price of what you are looking for. Now, price can play a major part in this, especially if you are working within a budget. However, think about this! If you are looking for quality and genuinety, then there is certainly a hefty price tag on this.

Think about your Little Princess! Would'nt she be simply esctatic dressed up in this enchanting princess like dress? Is'nt she worth more than this hefty price tag?

Are you putting together a formal outfit for your little one? It's easy to make her gorgeous from toe; and with a little extra thought you can get a little extra mileage from your purchases.

If your princess is part of a wedding party or is part of your own wedding let her shine at the event. Accessories such as tiaras that put a little sparkle in her hair and let her feel like a real princess will make the occasion even more special to her. Plus the tiara can be put up and reused at a later date or handed down to a younger sibling. If your daughter doesn't like the idea of a tiara, the elegance of an organza hair bow can't be beat. For girls with short hair styles, a special barrette for her hair is another great idea to add a beautiful touch to her hair.

Formal gowns come in so many shapes and sizes, there is one that will make her very happy. And again, a formal dress can usually be worn again for a special function such as a special event at church, holiday gathering or if she's older, a formal dance.

Shoes are also very important and not just any shoes. Dyeable shoes are the best for most formal wear as they can be dyed to match the dress exactly and give overall uniform look of elegance. As kids grow out of shoes in a season or two, choose a color that matches other dresses in her closet and you can make even more use from her perfectly dyed shoes.

Well, we may not like it but our girls are growing up and there are times that a formal dress may be required. Okay Dads, I hear you already saying that your baby is too young for a formal dress, etc.
Calm down, there are many reasons that a formal dress may be required.

What about that upcoming wedding where she is to be a Junior Bridesmaid? What can be more special than walking your daughter down the aisle for her wedding? Perhaps her little sister walking down before her as a flower girl or bridesmaid. A picture of the two of them together on this special day is something that you will treasure always.

Or perhaps something extra special is needed for a school or church pageant or program. Consider a gorgeous glittery dress for that special occasion sure to make her feel like a princess. And check out the sweet teen section with some great selections for a Debutante Ball. Or what about a special gown for her sweet sixteen party.

And you absolutely cannot forget to get your littlest angel something very special for her so she will be the belle of the ball when she goes with her parents to all of those holiday gatherings.

Or perhaps you don't need a reason to get a beautiful formal dress that will make her feel just like a princess.
